Accommodation Getaways Victoria Inc. - 2008 Conference

Victorian Member Association of B&B and Farmstay Australia
AGV Association Accommodation Conference Victoria Australia

AGV Annual Conference 2008 - Melbourne Australia

A more sustainable you. 13th & 14th October 2008 - Victoria University

The theme of this year's conference is "A More Sustainable You" with a focus on both business and environmental sustainability.

Once a year there is the opportunity to hear industry experts discuss issues that are most relevant to the unique business of guest accommodation. They will share their experience, knowledge and 'tricks of the trade' to ensure that your business is as successful as you want it to be.

It is also a great opportunity to take a well deserved break, network with others, share ideas and let your hair down at the Conference Dinner.

Who Should Attend?

Owners and managers of small to medium guest accommodation businesses, including bed and breakfasts, farmstays, cottages, guest houses, boutique hotels and hosted self-contained accommodation. Management and staff of Visitor Information Centres and other industry related organisations also benefit from discovering what's happening in our industry. Discounts apply for group registrations.

We understand the importance of offering up-to-date information on issues that relate directly to you and your business, with plenty of opportunity for you to meet and exchange ideas with your colleagues at an affordable price.

Melbourne Conference Venue

The annual Conference and Conference Dinner are held in the Conference Centre at Victoria University, Flinders Street, Melbourne. This spacious metropolitan venue enables us to invite top quality speakers from Victoria and from interstate. Delegates appreciate the range of accommodation available in the City and many operators from regional areas car-pool and share the costs. There's always plenty to see and do in Melbourne and excellent retail therapy for those who want to make a longer stay.

Exhibitor Hall

AGV invites businesses and organisations who serve our industry to take a stand at the conference. Delegates can discuss their needs with exhibitors and take advantage of the many giveaways and conference specials on offer.

Conference Sponsors

AGV enjoys excellent relations with a wide range of suppliers to the industry who generously support the annual conference. We are always pleased to discuss how sponsoring businesses and organisations can gain value for their investment in the industry.

AGV Conference 2008
“The success of Australia's tourism sector is intrinsically linked to the sustainability of Australia's accommodation owners and operators.

Last year, Australia's accommodation sector employed 143,300 people and made a significant contribution to the Australian economy; especially in regional and rural Australia.

Hence, I believe this year's conference theme, 'A More Sustainable You', to be entirely appropriate.

I strongly encourage you to participate in the Annual AGV Accommodation Conference, as it will help us build a stronger and more sustainable tourism industry. It is also a great opportunity for operators to get together, learn from each other, share successes, and network for the future."

Martin Ferguson - Federal Minister for Tourism
